The Real Hard Rock Party, Borneo Hard Rock Festival.

BORNEO HARD ROCK FESTIVAL starts from the idea to show the existence of FKIP (ESA) student to other faculties in Tanjungpura University.. (At that time, they don’t “count” FKIP students, or even often called as “villager” in the other faculties yells). BORNEO HARD ROCK FESTIVAL at first purposed as a prove that we can held events alike another faculties big events (Musik Kampus belongs to Engineer faculty, Oikonomos belongs to Economic Faculty, and Pro-Justitia belongs to Law Faculty), even though to held BORNEO HARD ROCK FESTIVAL we need to owe and offered proposals to everywhere at that time (1991-1992). Thanks to God, the first BORNEO HARD ROCK FESTIVAL was successfully held and still continues until now by the next generations and year by year BORNEO HARD ROCK FESTIVAL getting better and better. 

The Chronicles of Borneo Hard Rock Festival:

The first BORNEO HARD ROCK FESTIVAL was held on December, 21th-22th 1994 with Abdullah Thahir as the leader. It was the first motivation to make a break trough  the music festival in West Borneo with ±200 audiences at semi final and about ±400 audiences at final.

Then, P.TH.M Sampoerna sponsors the BORNEO HARD ROCK FESTIFAL II at 1995 with Achmad Muharam as the leader. BORNEO HARD ROCK FESTIVAL not always runs smoothly like in 1996. In the third year, rain poured so heavy and caused the decrease of  audiences quantity.

It proves on 1997 with Asep Mulyadi as the leader. BORNEO HARD ROCK FESTIVAL held on October, by doing some quality improvement such as the main song that more difficult than before and only 19 contestants participated as the result. In other hand on 1998, BORNEO HARD ROCK FESTIVAL which it sponsored by P.T.H.M Sampoerna and headed by Muhammad Ali, learn from the past and successfully increased the contestant quantity to 54 participants. It still become a record for BORNEO HARD ROCK FESTIVAL until now.

On 1999 the record appeared again at BORNEO HARD ROCK FESTIVAL VI with the burst of audience number.  It reached 600 audiences at semi final and 1200 audiences at final. This BORNEO HARD ROCK FESTIVAL with Jaka Mulyana as the leader made their own record on the audience enthusiasm.

Again, problems crush this event which held in 2000. Dwiyanto Tri Gusnadi leading BORNEO HARD ROCK FESTIVAL VII when the riot happens. Even though there are only 12 participants, this big events still held.

In 2001, P.T.H.M Sampoerna can not support this event again because the changing of Sampoerna Mild management. So, BORNEO HARD ROCK FESTIVAL VII with S. Martinus Gilang as the leader was sponsored by P.T Bentoel Star Mild.

This problem didn’t happens too long at BORNEO HARD ROCK FESTIVAL IX in 2003 with the returning of the last leader S. Martinus Gilang as the leader and the full support from P.T.H.M Sampoerna. But, this event was delayed for a year because of the academic problem and the legality. But, they can handle it and BORNEO HARD ROCK FESTIVAL successfully held.

Brilliant ideas always appear in the preparation of BORNEO HARD ROCK FESTIVAL such as at Dasawarsa BORNEO HARD ROCK FESTIVAL in 2004. Amellia as the first female leader held 4 big events such as Workshop, exhibition, live in concert and BORNEO HARD ROCK FESTIVAL itself. This event got 15 participants with 600 audiences at qualification and 1000 audiences at final.

Led by Hasanudin, the 11^th BORNEO HARD ROCK FESTIVAL in 2005 got 30 paticipants and held  in October. This event got 500 audiences at qualification and 1000 audiences at final.

Changed on lighting and sound at concert level makes BORNEO HARD ROCK FESTIVAL that led by Adrianus attracted more than 1000 audiences. Changed happen continuously at BORNEO HARD ROCK FESTIVAL XIII with Boris Pasaribu as the leader. Changed clearly appeared on stage decoration and publication and for the first time this event broadcasted on television.

The existence of BORNEO HARD ROCK FESTIVAL strengthened  when the BORNEO HARD ROCK FESTIVAL XIV held. With the participation of a elementary student from Senakin proved that BHRF not only made for adult but also for all of society. Led by M. Syaiful, BORNEO HARD ROCK FESTIVAL got 28 participants and 500 audiences at qualification and 900 audiences at final.  

Then, BORNEO HARD ROCK FESTIVAL XVI held in 2009 and got 38 participants. This event led by M.rezha Sudiar and got 1000 audiences at final.

BORNEO HARD ROCK FESTIVAL XVI held in 2010 with Deny Nurdwiansyah as the leader got 43 participants and 600 audiences at qualification and 900 audiences at final.

Now, we are waiting for the next BORNEO HARD ROCK FESTIVAL. The sweet seventeen one, uyeeeaaaaa!!. Keep rock!
